Ports Toronto’s Community Liaison and Noise Committees

This year the meetings focused on construction updates on the expanded terminal, airfield rehabilitation and master plan consultation. A presentation on Climate Change solutions by a member of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Corp was organized by the BQNA rep and held at the CLC’s quarterly meeting on November 27, 2018. The BQNA rep also made a presentation on the need for air quality testing on February 27, 2019 and showed clips from the documentary “Something in the Air. This resulted in Ports Toronto’s support for the BQNA’s sub-committee initiative to test air quality in the neighbourhood.

A noise sub-sub-committee was formed and are meeting to discuss parameters for an independent noise study for the airport and adjoining neighbourhood. The committee was also effective in having curfew violation fees directed toward charitable community, youth and environmental organizations.
